Comments for "Blue Jasmine":
The book that I read, Blue Jasmine is fiction. I really liked this book because it's interesting. Interesting in the way in which a foreign girl comes to the U.S because she had to come, but she didn't want to come and then gets used to her new home. The connection that I can make with this book is with some of the kids that move to different homes, states, or schools and have to get used to it, but can at first be hard for them. I would recommend this book to other people because it is really good.
Comments for, "How Do You Spell Geek":
The book that i have also read is "How do you spell Geek." This book is fiction and it is also a very good book. There are three characters how are Ann, Kimberly, and Lurlene, but the character that I like the most is Lurlene because to the kids at her school she's a geek. She is a geek by the way that she dresses and how she looks, but what people don't know is that she spells good. I like this character because she's not like other kids who think about their style, how popular they are, or the way they look. It's a good book and i would recommend it to other people.
Comments for "The Royal Diaries":
The book that i'm still reading is "The Royal Diaries: Kristina The Girl King." Its historical nonfiction. When I read this book I would like to ask her questions like "Wouldn't you want to one day forgive your mother for hating you?" Also "Why does your mom loves you even if you're not the boy that she wished for?" The connection that i make myself with this is that if i were in her position i would feel kind of lonely of my mom didn't speak to me just for being a girl and that it's not my fault that i'm not a boy.

The book that I am reading is Judy Moody: Predicts the Future . A character that I would invite to my house is Judy Moody. The reason why I would invite Judy Moody to my house, because she is funny, fun, and cool. She looks like a nice girl that would not break all my things. So it would be an honor to have her at my house. At first I thought she was a bad person but she's not. Judy is just a little silly but if she learns to be careful then I would be all right with her coming over. I know that she would make my family and I laugh a lot.

Dear Robert,
You were reading, "Remmants" and now you are reading, "Stink, The Incredible Shrinking Kid"? Did you finish, "Remmants"? From your post it seems that you lost interest. Sometimes books ebb and flow, but sticking with them is the goal. Those small details are important and amazingly come back into the story in the most unique, surprising and important ways, sometimes.

Dear Robert,
Please forgive my bluntness, but this post is all over the place. Due to spelling and syntax errors it is very hard to read and understand. I am confused about the connection? How is this a text-to-text connection, when you are comparing it to something you saw on the internet - which is not a text? Do you like the book you've read? Do you not? Why? Who are the characters? Where does it take place? You are saying a whole lot of nothing!
I am glad that you feel comfortable sharing on the blog, but you must proof-read what you write to ensure understanding. I'd love to repost this, after you've done a bit of work on it.
I look forward to reading your corrected, revised post,

The book I am reading is titled "Remnants" by K.A. Applegates.
I made a text to text connection beacuse this book is about the end of the world and saving man kind and the tragic deaths of people and how hard it would be to lose your own friend and family and loseing the generation of your family if you die. This is also about some guy name Mo' steal going to hell and getting skinned alive by robots and surviving and going back to earth he was thinking about how he got into hell I the first place beacuse he hated his dad or beacuse he was stealing from his mother's purse. This reminds me of a video I saw on the internet about a guy who was a verry bad guy he robbed banks, brakes out county jails, murdered people, almost did suicide .One day he got into a big car crash and almost died ,the people that saw called the ambulance ,he felt and saw the abulence burst Into flames,he said " god said do you believe in me and the guy" the guy said "no". So the guy went threw a tunnel and look like a volcano and he saw people screaming and fire and demons and goblins there and he asked " in my in hell" He said it was the worst thing you can inmage it was horrible but the devil said do you believe in satan and he said no so satan kicked out of helland he was in the ambulance when he Awaked he stop every thing and went to church believed in god and was a musicale he survived and cause of that he changed his whole life same to Mo' steal

Dear Sariel,
Is "Werewolves Don't Go to Summer Camp" a chapter book? Is the book a part of a series of books, similar to the "Goosebumps" series? What do you like about werewolves? Do you know any interesting information about werewolves, such as were they come from, do they have "powers, what or who is their nemesis? The only werewolf I know of was from an 1980's movie called, An American Werewolf in London. I remember the move being terrifying as the American was a very nice, simple guy who ends up in a hair-raising situation.
I also wonder, who are these four characters you mention in your last post? Which one do you most identify with and why?

I chose the book "Werewolves don't go to summer camp", because it is interesting. This book is interesting because 4 kids save a man who is a werewolf. This book is also interesting because it is funny , this book is funny because the 4 kids say funny things about the werewolf like for example he is a hairy dog or maybe sometimes they call a man a dog.

Book: Werewolves Don't Go to Summer Camp
Comments: The story named "Werewolves don't go to summer camp", this story took place in the woods. Some kids went to summer camp where they met a werewolf. It happened at midnight when there was a full moon. Sometimes the book took place in cabins , lunch areas , but it mostly took place in the woods.

Dear Sariel,
Thanks for posting. You say the title of the book is, "Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones", but in your post you say there are four characters, then you say there are three; I'm confused. Are the two people from the title the main characters, but there are two other characters in the book? Why title the book after two characters if there are four lead characters?
Your lack of writing conventions makes your post difficult to read and understand; capitalization, run-on sentences, syntax errors, punctuation errors and spelling mistakes. I'd love to check out this book - because you say you like it so, but your post is quite difficult to connect to. I suggest you reread, edit, then rewrite your post to ensure understanding. Give details and descriptions. Make your post come "alive", and please, please, please use correct writing conventions to ensure understanding.

Dear Jesus,
So the old adage is true, "Dog is Man's Best Friend". What a connection you must have with this book, as you have had 6 dogs in your lifetime and currently have one now. What type of dog do you have? Is it your favorite breed? Was it your choice to get this dog or was it a family choice? What are your responsibilities with your dog? What do you and your dog to together that makes him/her your best friend?
I don't have any pets, but my sister has two dogs currently; Alvin, a small Japanese Chin and Shelby, a mixed-bred pound dog. Shelby is quite kind, she always has a smile on her face - really, her face actually smiles. Alvin, he's a bit of a prince and is quite picky. He will only drink water from his bowl at home, never when we go for a walk or go to a restaurant with him. He also won't let all people pet him. When he is in my sister's car, he always sits on top of the car seats instead of in the actual seat. We try to move him so we can see out of the back window, but it doesn't matter, he just climbs right back to the top of the seat - what a bother!
Looking forward to reading more about your best friend(s),

"There's a Dragon In My Sleeping Bag" sounds like a great title, but why are you screaming it at me? (All caps...) You have broken the cardinal rule of posting on this blog - you are summarizing. No summaries please. Share about the characters, setting, themes, connections or if you liked the book or did not like the book, but no summaries. Why would I want to read the book if you tell me everything about it? Only summarize bits and pieces to add clarity regarding your review of the book, please.
Watch syntax, spelling, misuse of lack of use of punctuation marks and missing/deleted words - your post was very difficult to read and understand due to these errors.

Dear Fidel,
What a great title, "World's Dumbest Crooks". I have a connection - my mom loves to watch real life "cop" shows. When I visit her there is always something on about police officers in Las Vegas, Miami or down in the Bayou. I mention these shows because the people who are arrested are not very bright. There was one case where two men on a moped were trying to outrun the police. How were they going to outrun a police vehicle on a moped? The two men were brothers and the older brother (who was driving the moped) pushed his younger brother off. When the younger brother fell off he rolled into the street and onto an embankment - it was funny. When the police caught the older brother they asked why did he push his brother off? He said, "Oh, he fell..." The younger brother said that wasn't true then they started arguing back and forth. When the younger said, he was going to tell there Mom, the older brother stopped. All the while the police just watched, laughing. The funniest part of it all is that the police were originally not following the brothers, they were following the car in front of them, but when the brothers began to drive recklessly they officers changed their search. The brothers both had warrants for other crimes and were arrested, however, they would not have been arrested had they just continued to drive normally.
Which story from the book is the most "dumb" in your opinion? If you could give these criminals some advice what would you say?

Dear Fidel,
A new Judy Blume book for me to read. I thought I had read all of her books, but I have not read "Freckle Juice". So many connections, yet they seemed quite surface, they lack depth. They read as a list of similarities, not true connections. Choose one connections and go deep with it, share your feelings, what you did, what you are going to do now, etc.
Due to writing conventions your post was hard to read and understand. It's okay to write less, to ensure that you write well. Quality versus quantity. I suggest you redo this post, choose one connection and give details - make the connection come alive for the reader (me).

I have read this book before, but it has been quite a while. I remember liking it and it reminding me of how comforted I am when under the weather or tired by a bowl of warm, vegetable soup.
Why was the old lady serving soup to the little boy from a hat so interesting? Did it remind you of something? Was the illustration humorous? I would love for you to elaborate more with your writing to build a stronger image, feeling and context to what you are reading.

Dear Ruby,
I've heard of the book, "Big Nate Game On!", but have yet to read it. Glad you decided to write a connection, but the connection is surface, as it lacks depth. Also the writing is clipped, with syntax errors throughout.
Instead of writing two connections that are just informative, choose one; the one about your mom and the uniform would be fun to write about. Don't tell me, show me. What does faded and discolored feel like, look like and/or smell like? How did you feel going to practice in the ruined uniform? How did you feel when your friends noticed that your uniform was not the same? What did you say to your mom? What did she say or do regarding the uniform? Did you keep the uniform or did you have to purchase a new one? Did you have to play a baseball game in the uniform? How was that? Did the other team notice your ruined uniform? What did they do? What did they say? How did you feel?
I encourage you to reread, edit, expand and rewrite your post - I know you can do it!

Dear Angel,
From what you have shared, I think you have a text-to-self connection, however, due to errors regarding the subject-verb agreement(s), spelling and sentence construction, I am having difficulty understanding what you are communicating. I really want to connect to this book (and to you as a writer), as it "sounds" interesting, but you must proofread your work to ensure understanding. If your reader (that's me) does not understand what (you) the writer is communicating, then the reader (me) will abandon a potentially, beneficial shared experience.
I encourage you to rewrite this post, have a friend of Mr. Harry give you some feedback and repost.
I look forward to your rewritten post,

If I was the author I would change James' nickname from Stink to Shortie. I would change it to Shortie because in the story he is short and he complains that he is short and wants to grow. His nickname Stink does not explain how he is during the story so his nickname should be changed.

Dear Diego,
The lowercase lettered book title is KILLING ME!!! How do I even begin to read a post when, from the very beginning, I only know it's a book because it says it next to it. Without the descriptor I would be lost. The rules of writing are so important, they are shared agreements that allow for the writer to be understood - for the writer's message to be heard. The rules allow for clarity, so the writer can expand, explore and envelope the reader. With that said, you have also broken the cardinal rule of this blog; you have written a summary. Don't summarize please. Tell me what you think? Why you think it? What can you relate to? What seems absolutely impossible? Share your thoughts, opinions and ideas, but please, please, please do not summarize the book (I could just read the summary on Amazon - and that's not the purpose of the blog).
I suggest reading the "Introduction" to the blog page again to ensure you understand what the requirements are for the blog.
I look forward to reading your future post,

Book: stink the incredible shrinking kid

The book that read was called stink the incredible shrinking kid. This book is about a boy who was shrinking but he did t know he was shrinking. Until one day his sister measured him after dinner. His sister told him he got sportier he couldn't believe it. He did every thing he could to see what was wrong. He went to school and when he sat at his desk he said hi to a girl who now want to be called Sofia the elf and stink to Sofia he want to be called the incredible shrinking kid. After that the teacher ask who wanted to go get the milk and for the first time stink raise his hands. The only reason I think he didn't raised his hand the other times was because he was to short and couldn't pick the milk up.
After he pick up the milk he went up stairs to get to his class room. He past the office, and the teachers room he was on his way but he stop at the nurse office and the nurse to stink "what's wrong a headache a sour mouth" and stink said "no I'm getting sportier". The nurse said "how " he said " last night I was smaller than yesterday" the nurse said "no at night you are smaller because your body is resting". When he went back to class every body said he got pick to have the class pet for the weekend. He took it home and was so excited he told his sister and his sister said "it was going to be boring "and he said "no it is not". He told her about the interesting parts of the pet she said "ok call me when it is happening". During that time the pet was peeling off his skin to have a new skin because it was growing and the sister told him look at least the pet is growing unlike you. Stink had write what the pet was doing for home work. When stink went to clean its tank he gave the pet to the sister to hold and she drop it in the drain and turn on the switch hand cut the prt and died. Stink went to his room sad and wrote on the paper saying 1:48 pet died in sink. He went to school the next day telling the teacher and the teacher said it was ok we will just say it ran away. Dear Jonatan,
Lots of "thems", in this post. This book seems quite interesting. It seems that worms take over the lives of these four characters. I say it seems, because I am not quite sure as the construction of the sentences make it difficult to understand the writing, especially, the purpose of the writing. As a writer, what do you want me, as the reader to take with me? This reads like a summary and an incomplete summary, to boot. What I want to know is, if you liked the book or disliked the book? What characters did you connect with and why? Was there a character you didn't connect with; a character that was annoying? Was there a message or lesson in this story? Would you recommend it to others, and if so why?
Jomatan, I encourage you to please redo this post and give more than a summary. What you think makes the difference? I want to know what you think.
I look forward to reading your revised post,
Tracy Carness

If I were to write a sequal to this book I would call it The Secret because the main character is hiding a secret from her boyfriend. Another reason why is because it is very dramatic and it also has to do with hiding a secret and because the main character Tina is trying to find out if her cousin Holly is kiddnapped or just hanging out with her friends.

I chose this book because I thought that it would be interesting. The book is by R.L Stines and it is a horror book.Another reason why I chose to read this book was because when I was reading this book "College Weekend" it started to get more interesting because in the book it says that the main character Tina Rivers was just dying to meet her boyfriend. I thought that this book was about drama because Tina may have been cheating on her boyfriend Josh.

Dear Nadia,
Thank you for your post. My question..., what is the purpose of your writing? If this is a summary, it could not possibly be the entire book? Maybe it is just what you have read thus far? However, as in the instructions it states, no summaries, so what is this? Please reread the introduction page to make sure you know the requirements and suggestions of the blog. Also, please reread your work to ensure understanding; using the rules of good writers: sentence structure, subject-verb agreement(s), punctuation, etc.

What was also weird was that Holly had disappeared. But Christopher isn't worried about Holly or Josh. And also Tina also thinks that Christopher seems to have all the answers.
In the story it also says that someone pounded on the door,Tina hurried to open and see hoped for it to be Josh, then when she checked out to see who it was.But instead she saw a girl with dark-haired girl who stood in the hall-way.Then the girl streaked saying "no" and "I don't believe it".Tina stared at the girl and said "excuse me"she wore tight blue jeans over a beige bodysuit. Her short round dark hair framed her round serious face. The girl apologized and and said that she thought she was someone else. Then the girl started talking all about Josh and her best friend Stevie. She also was talking about what they have in common of Josh and Stevie.

The book that I am reading is the Puppy Place. I made a text-to-self connection because I found a dog just like the main character, Charles. I took the dog to the pound, but they could not keep it because they were full. In the story, Charles asks everyone in his neighborhood if they want the dog. I asked my cousins to take the dog I found and they did. I was sad, just like Charles, because I had to find a home for dog just like Charles.

I would ask the main character Charles Peterson why can't he keep the dog. Is he allergic to dogs. Does he already have too many dogs. He found a dog and he took is it to the pet store but they could not find it a home so they gave it back. I hope he can find the dog a home.
June 20, 2014
Dear Daniel,
"The pet store was to fool of dogs." The store was full of dogs that were fools? When writers do not edit or check their work misunderstandings abound. I am sure you are attempting to communicate something, I am just unsure as to what it is. While you say, The Puppy Place is like another book, you don't give the title of the other book. You tell me (the reader) that the books are similar, but why is this important? When writing a connection (text-to-text, text-to-self or text-to-world), it is not about compliance. "I read a book this like this one, it said the same thing..." is compliance. Why is this connection important? How has it changed you as a reader and a writer? Why should I read this book? Will my connection be the same? Will this connection change the way I see and experience the world? Give me a connection please, not compliance.
Daniel, you must reread and edit your work before posting. There are many errors in this draft (spelling, sentence construction, punctuation, etc), that hinder understanding. All writers rewrite - it's okay to write another draft with corrections and additions to communicate in a way that allows your to be understood.
I look forward to reading your next post (repost),
Tracy Carness

He took it to the pet store and they could not take the dog because there was no room.

I chose this book Junie B. Jones and the yucky blucky fruit cake because it is funny. This book is funny because of her actions like when she throws a sponge at a boy at a carnival.I also chose this book because in my opinion this book makes sense because it follows up with the chapters like for example in one chapter she at school and the teacher talks about a carnival then the next chapter there another day and on that day the carnival starts and it examples like the rides like what type are they.I also think it was interesting in the part of the book where it talk about a fruit cake she won and that they last forever and rot and it's brown also you can sit on it, the weird thing is in real life it looks like a real fruit cake and it does rot and you cant sit on it.Last but not least I chose this book because of the summary and back grounds information. That's why I chose this book.

Dear Cecilla,
Like, like, like, like, like, like - too many "likes". You start with a connection, text-to-self, which was brief and uneventful. A tarantula near my shoe would be a big event. More details, descriptions, and elaboration with the connection would have meet the blog post requirements, but sadly :(, you stepped into summary. Then, you moved into a bit of a review :), but ended in, yes, a summary. Your post is all over the place. My dear Ms. Tapia, less is so much more. Stay with the connection, elaborate on the connection, make me (the reader) feel the fear, creepiness, or confusion of losing your cousins tarantula and then finding it near a shoe. Details, descriptions and explanations please. Also, please use the rules of good writers; capitalization, sentence construction, subject-verb agreement(s), punctuation, etc. to make your work understandable to your audience.
I look forward to your rewrite,

Book: Robert and the attack of the giant tarantula
Comments by: Cecilia Tapia

My book i am reading is titled Robert and the attack of the giant tarantula. The author of the book is Barbara seuling and it's illustrate by Paul brewer.I made a text to myself because I have an experience just like this because i have tried to take care of pets and I have lost a tarantula in my room but it was my cousins and I found it a few minutes later next to my sandals. The main character in the story is Robert he is a boy that wants a pet but then he starts taking care of pets and he ends up with a lot a pets and his room looks like a zoo. This book also starts when Roberts friend helps him make a sign for dogs but then he starts getting different pets like tarantula, rabbits, bunnies, and birds. In this book there's like a weird setting because the title is about a giant tarantula but then it starts adding more animals. In my opinion this book really doesn't make any sense because of the addition of the pets. This book takes place at school and at Roberts house it also doesn't make sense because if it talks about walking dogs why is the story taking place at school too because if it takes place at school why is he taking care of pets the story I believe should of been like a pet day like where he could of been the assistant of taking care of the pets in the class and then going home talking about his big day and a pet care taking that would make more sense. The book also doesn't really give enough detail to support the evidence like when the lady went to the hospital and he took care of her birds the lady never came back in the story so what happen there. This book should also have like more excitements.
This book Robert the attack of the tarantula is a fiction book and could happen in real life like taking care of pets. This book was basically about a boy that wants pets or a pet but his dad won't let him then he starts taking care of pets and his dad is fine with it then It turns worse because his room looks like a zoo.this book does have surprise but they are weird. This book starts good but in the middle of the book is very confusing. This book is like a weird type.I am guessing the author likes making these books because she likes people to get entertain because of the different events going on.So that is what I think about the book Robert the attack of the giant tarantula.

Dear Destiny,
You can make a text-to-text what? A text-to-text connection? If you are making this kind of connection you must write it. Your readers do not know what a text-to-text is. What other text is this story like, you never mention another text? Do you mean text-to-self connection?
However, this post is almost there. I get it. I can see you, your mom and your pyramid covered in "cold" glue (as the hot glue cools). I can imagine that is was indeed a funny sight to see. However, your post reads like a first draft, the bones are there and I can see and understand what you are trying to say. Did you proofread your work to ensure understanding? Did you edit your work to make sure the spelling was correct? Did you have a peer read your work and give feedback regarding sentence construction, purpose of writing or the development of your writer's voice? The bones are here - I highly suggest you reread your post and edit for clarity and understanding. Maybe, also have a peer or teacher help you with an edit then repost.
I want to understand what you are communicating. I look forward to your rewrite and repost,

The book that I'm reading is called "Judy Moody Saves the World". I can make a text to text because in this one sentence Judy said "it looks like a glue museum to me". When I read that sentence it remined me when I was in the 6th grade. When I had to bulid a prayamid for History class. So when I had told my mom told my mom to help me to bulid a prayamid. When we were done building the prayamid it looked like a big gluey prayamid, beacause there was a lot of hot dry up glue on top of the prayamid. So when I read that sentence from my book it remined me when I bulid a prayamid. For history class.
Looking back on page 29 Judy was getting mad her parents beacuse, Judy told her parents to R.E.C.Y.L.E stuff like a(n) 1 orange juice can beacause maybe you could use it for some thing. Or like a(n) paper muffin holder. When I read those it I can connect to Judy (text to self). I can connect with Judy what she said about recycling things beacause Judy want to SAVE the WORLD. By not dying Judy also said "ZZZZ-ZZZZZ. THE SOUND OF A CHAIN CUTTING A TREE DOWN". When I read that part it does sound like a tree cutting down. Like I said in I agree with Judy about recycling and SAVE the world and help the environment.

Dear Gustavo,
Thanks for sharing, but I am confused. You say you made a text-to-text connection, but you don't mention another text. You also, don't mention the connection, you writing drops into summary. What other book does, Stink, remind you of? What is your connection and why is it important? Regarding the section you summarized, did you have any strong connections with this part of the story? Do you like the book thus far? Do you not like the book? What is your opinions regarding the book? Even though you have not finished the book yet, would you recommend it? Why? Why not?
There are also quite a feel errors regarding writing conventions; capitalization, spelling, sentence construction, punctuation, etc. If I might suggest you reread your work to ensure understanding. I would also suggest a peer or teacher review.
I would suggest having another pair of eyes review your work and give you feedback or suggestions, then rewrite and repost.

Book: stink
Comments by: Gustavo Torres
The book I am reading is titled stink. I made a text-to-text about stink what I put is that stink is three feet inches tall and he haven't grown a inch or a centimeter. So this story is about a kid call stink that never grows so his sister is telling stink that he will never catch her up. Her sister measures stink every morning, afternoon',and night and she says that he doesn't grow up he gets smaller and smaller. So his sister gave stink a jail so he could put he's hair up so he could look taller. So stink needs to leave his hair up for a week. So after that week he went up stars to Cheak what happen to his hair. So he have turned smaller. So his sister measure him and he was two feet inches tall.
The next day he enter his class of 2d and he asked a girl next to him and ask her if he got shorter and the little girl said no so stink thinks that his sister is lieing to him. In the class he was turning green again. Stink things that he's turning taller but he's not because his sister says that he is still the same hight . So I left off on the part that he says that he thinks is getting taller so he thinks his sister is lieing to him.

I am reading, "The Gift of the Magi". The character that I will give an award to is Della and the award is for being brave. Is because she had a little bit of money to buy a present, so she cuts her hair to get money for a Christmas present so she can give it too.

I chose "The Gift of the Magi", because it was about a girl/women that cut's her hair so she can sell it to buy a present. She wants to buy a present for Christmas Eve. She wanted to buy an expensive present that cost a lot. It was interesting because it was nice that she cut's her hair for a gift.
June 20, 2014
Dear Manuel,
Lots of connections, but where is the depth? The first connection was enough. How did you feel when you cousin cut her hair? Would you do the same? Would you not? Why? How did your cousin feel when she cut her hair? How long did she grow her hair? How long was it when she cut it? How did she feel with short hair? How did her life change when she made such a donation? Would you cut your hair to buy a present, like the character in The Gift of the Magi? By the way, who is "she"? In your second sentence you wrote, "I made a text-to-self because she cutted her hairs and sold it." Who is she?
I think you understand the expectations of the blog, but your post reads a bit like compliance. You have written what you think is "right", but I am striving for understanding, depth and connection. I feel, after reading a book (liked or disliked) something changes within. The brain grows dendrites, you know a bit more about you and who you would be in the given situations in the book. I feel, reading is a wonderful way to time travel, to step into another life, another situation another way of being and for the time that you are reading you are allowed to go beyond your own life. I want that level of sharing in your post. I think you can do it. So please, pick just one connection and develop it so when I read it I can see it, feel it, smell it, be with it - for just a moment, I get to be you.
I look forward to your rewrite,

The book I am reading is titled "The Gift of the Magi". I made a text-to-self because she cutted her hairs and sold it. Is because she needed money to buy a present for Christmas Eve. "That reminds me of the time my cousin cutted her hair and gave it to a person the had cancer". "This character makes me think of a nice person because she cutted her hair to just buy a present for some on". Plus I made a text-to-world because it said "the last leaf fell." "This is like when it's fall and all the leafs fall. But there is one on the tree but it fall." I made a text-to-self because it said " by a business college." "It reminds me when my older cousin went to college. Learned to be a business student for 2 year." Plus he did it to be a better person in life. I made a text-to-self when food during a cold".is because my cousin ate food in the cold. Plus they didn't had nothing to eat.

I choose "Judy Moody was in mood not in a good mood a bad mood" because it is funny. It is funny because Judy has to go to school and with her not knowing she goes in pajamas. Also Judy, her friend and her brother were walking and they needed money so that they can go get a prize for their assiment . So then they found a lucky stone that came from the moon and Judy smashed it and it was all dirt.

If I were to write a sequel to "The Treasure Map Mystery" I would title it "The Mystery Chest". I would call it The Mystery Chest because when I read "The Treasure Map Mystery" it said that the map was found in a chest game. Also I would choose this title because a mysterious man stole the map because he wanted the chest game. He didn't buy into because the woman who had it had told him no and gave it to her son. The guy followed the the kids until both of the kids let it go so he stole the game and the map was inside the game.

Dear Arlene V.,
I can relate to your connection, when a friend decides to "unfriend" you because you will not share something. I think you did the right thing. If the teacher said it was a secret, then keeping the secret was important. What I would like to know if, like Harry and Mary, did you and your friend become friends again?
Your connection is here, but it is a bit unclear. You drop into summary and many of the sentences are hard to understand because of word choice and sentence construction. A peer or teacher edit could help make your post more understandable.
I would like to suggest a rewrite, this is a decent first draft, but it is not a final draft. Give it some more time by editing and revising, then please repost.
I look forward to reading your next work,

Book: Horrible Harry and The Green Slime
Comments by: Arlene Villa
The book I am reading is titled Horrible Harry and The Green Slime. This book is about a class and there are two friends that want one another to write a letter to each other but the teacher had a jar so that all the students would get there secret pal. This reminds of fifth grade because for Christmas my fifth grade teacher said we had to give a student a a gift but it was a secret so I after we choose our secret pal we couldn't tell anyone but I was so sad because I had my friend I she asked me and I didn't tell her and she said she wasn't my friend no more so the same that happened to me is happening to these two kids. The two kids names are Harry and Mary .Also it is similar because the characters make me think of my friend because she would always be my assailants. Also I think that the story is interesting because the class that Mary and Harry are in read about Charlottes web . So what they did when the story finished is that Harry asked the teacher if they can an activity an the teacher. The teacher said yes and they began doing spider webs put the all around the school which is called the south school.
The story was interesting because the as a class the did spider webs and Harry put it in the principals office. When they were done they went back to class but Harry thought everything was fine because they tippy toed. As a while later the principal went to the classroom and everyone stopped laughing. The principal entered and said who put a spider web in the closet and the teacher said we.....we Harry said we did all this to celebrate the end of Charlottes web.The principal left and all the class giggling started again. After the teacher gave the kids a project to do.All the kids had to do is do something they love to do. The good thing is that Harry and Mary are friends again

Thanks for posting. You say the title of the book is, "Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones", but in your post you say there are four characters, then you say there are three; I'm confused. Are the two people from the title the main characters, but there are two other characters in the book? Why title the book after two characters if there are four lead characters?

Dear Jesus,
So the old adage is true, "Dog is Man's Best Friend".

Dear Fidel,
What a great title, "World's Dumbest Crooks".

I am assuming the book you have read/are reading is called, "Stone Soup", because you didn't give the name of the book in your post, but you mention an old lady making stone soup.

I chose" big Nate game on!"to read today because it is funny, it has funny character, I like how the illistrater drew the character. When I started reading the book it had funny parts when Nate's dad bleached his baseball uniform and it turned to a different color : salmon that made me laugh. The author Lincoln Peirce makes the books Big Nate funny.

Dear Ruby,
I've heard of the book, "Big Nate Game On!", but have yet to read it.
I look forward to reading your corrected, revised post,

Book: Big Nate Game On! by Lincoln Pearce
Comments by: Ruby Gonzalez
The book I am reading is titled BIG NATE GAME ON! By Lincoln Pearce. I want to make a text-to-text when Nate dad wash his baseball uniform and he made his uniform to a different color name salmon. And when my mom wash uniform for baseball too it was kinda fade and kinda small and when I went to go practice with the team my friend said that my uniform is kinda fade too.Another text-to-self is when my cousin was not kinda happy with the name of the swimming team they made and she wanted to change it but the coach no that is the name the coaches choose it connects with Nate because Nate was not happy with the name of his basket ball team and baseball team and he want them to change the names to something else.

Dear Aaron,
Sorry for the delay in my comments. From your comment, you state you, like President Lincoln, can be forgetful - and I see how that is possibly as you have forgotten the rest of your blog post. You start with your connection but end up talking about his hat. Huh? Follow through my friend, stay with the connection and give details and descriptions to share fully and clearly. There are also many errors with spelling, capitalization and sentence construction. I really look forward to reading your comments, but I can only read and understand them if you take a moment to reread your work to check for understanding. All writers rewrite - now it's your time to do the same.

The hat was big and the color was black. He kept all he's important tletters and important stuff inside he's hat.

I'm reading a book called "Judy Moody Gets Famous!" It reminds me of when my cousin won a contest, and she became famous in Mexico Guadalajara,Jalisco. At the end it was exciting how she became famous, when they told me that my cousin won the contest I was super happy. Judy Moody really wanted to get famous. She finally did when she fixed all the broken dolls from a local hospital. People loved her and knew her name. She was relieved when she finally got famous because she tried so many ways to get famous.

Dear Angel,
From what you have shared, I think you have a text-to-self connection, however, due to errors regarding the subject-verb agreement(s), spelling and sentence construction, I am having difficulty understanding what you are communicating. I really want to connect to this book (and to you as a writer), as it "sounds" interesting, but you must proofread your work to ensure understanding. If your reader (that's me) does not understand what (you) the writer is communicating, then the reader (me) will abandon a potentially, beneficial shared experience.

Dear Diego,
The lowercase lettered book title is KILLING ME!!!

The teacher kept a little secret with stink.

If I were to write a sequal to this book I would call it The Secret because the main character is hiding a secret from her boyfriend. Another reason why is because it is very dramatic and it also has to do with hiding a secret and because the main character Tina is trying to find out if her cousin Holly is kiddnapped or just hanging out with her friends.

Dear Nadia,
Thank you for your post.

I choose this book called stink because it looked interesting. It's interesting because it talks about stink shrinking in different situations. He shrinks when his sister gives him a gel for his hair. I would not like to be able to shrink like stink.
June 20, 2014
I look forward to your repost,

The character in my story that I would invite over to my house is Jim. I chose Jim because we ca play together like sports, play games, and play at the park with him the whole day. It is because Jim I have our love of sports in common.

Or I'd ask her "Do you like Gummy Bears?"I would ask her the first question because she won a trophy in the book and she looked so happy.I would ask her the second question because it looks like she likes to eat any kind of snacks.

I chose the book "Judie Moody Saves the World" because it talks about ways to save the world for example you can save the world not littering and not polluting.Although if the trash isn't yours pick it up and throw it away.I also chose this book because it has all kinds of moods that is what I mostly like about her I like it because her moods are always changing. The book Judy Moody is sometimes funny and sometimes boring it's because she says boring things sometimes she also says funny things also sometimes.
